Blog Post #3

Evaluate how useful Jon Stone will be in the investigation.

Jon Stone will be useful, but not extremely dedicated to the investigation. He enjoys being a soldier so much so that after he retired from Delta, he became a mercenary for the United States government. He expresses his want for money, as well as his dislike for Elvis Cole. "Why you still rolling with him? Cole don't pay...."(Crais 120). Cole doesn't charge much for his services, and as a result Stone does not like working with him. Stone has a seemingly illogical obsession with upgrading his house. Every penny he earns goes into his house, even though after being there for only eighteen hours he already wanted to leave.

Question: evaluate Nita's belief that Krista ran away to get married

Nita's belief that Krista ran off to marry Jack is not logical. Krista and her boyfriend, jack, went missing and called with a random demand, Nita assumed that it was Jack scamming her into enough money to go to Vegas and get married. Krista is a ridiculously responsible person, knowing this, Elvis thinks that based off of the call, and Krista's personality, that they really were abducted. "This was a ransom demand it sounds like shes been abducted.' Nita Morales waved me off again.
'He put her up to this so they could get married" (Crais 21). Nita is not thinking logically, she is in denial that her daughter could actually be in trouble. In the ransom call Krista fakes a heavy mexican accent, Elvis knows she wouldnt go to that much of an extreme just for $500. Nita is not thinking logically, she just wants to believe that Jack is behind everything bad.
